Adwan is a highly accomplished professional with a rich and diverse background in economics, telecommunications, and international trade. With a solid educational foundation and a wealth of experience, he has made significant contributions to the fields of digital economy, investment, entrepreneurship, and telecommunications.
Nael holds a PhD in Business Economics with a specialization in Telecommunication, earned from Jordan University in 2014. His academic journey also includes a Master of Science in Economics from Jordan University in September 1999 and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the same institution in 1996.
Over the years, Nael has acquired a series of valuable certificates and designations that underscore his commitment to professional excellence. Notable among these are his Certificate in International Trade (2006) and the Designation of International Trade Professional (2007), both awarded by FITT Canada in Ontario. He also holds a Diploma of International Trade (2007) from FITT Canada, a testament to his expertise in international trade matters. In 2007, he furthered his knowledge in International Business Management at Mohawk College in Canada, Ontario. Nael has also completed the PUM Certificate program offered by Netherlands experts in 2017.
Nael's extensive career journey is marked by significant leadership roles in various governmental organizations. Currently serving as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and Secretary General at the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) since November 2021, Nael is instrumental in shaping policies and regulations in the telecommunications sector.
In his prior role as the Director of the Investment and Entrepreneurship Department at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MODEE) from 2020 to 2021, Nael played a pivotal role in creating strategies, policies, and programs to foster investment and entrepreneurship in the digital economy. His work aimed at ensuring sustained growth in the sector, supporting entrepreneurs, and
contributing to social sustainable development goals.
From 2016 to 2020, Nael served as the Director of Investment and Promotions Department at MODEE, where he engaged in policy dialogues, monitored program implementations, conducted research, and managed E-initiatives to boost information technology usage. Nael's extensive experience also includes a role as the Secretary General Counselor at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MOICT) in the early part of 2016. Additionally, he served as the Director of Performance Monitoring and Development (PMD) from 2018 to 2020, where he focused on efficiency, customer satisfaction, and process improvement.
Earlier in his career, Nael held positions as the Director of Policies and Strategies Department at MOICT from 2014 to 2016 and as the Director of Economics Department at the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) in Jordan from 2009 to 2014.
Nael's expertise extends beyond his professional roles. He has actively shared his knowledge and insights as a speaker at various events, including international business conferences and meetings on information and communication technology. His leadership initiatives, including digital skills bootcamps and knowledge centers, have contributed to the development of the digital economy.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Nael is a published author and an active member of various professional associations, including the Jordanian Writers Society and the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT).
