Michael Yao, Vice President of Lenovo.
In his role, Michael is responsible for the R&D, offering, and service delivery of Lenovo hybrid cloud solution (Lenovo xCloud™) and Lenovo "as-a-service" solution (TruScale™) in China. He is also in charge of the service delivery of Lenovo's global IT cloud infrastructure. Michael is a pioneer in practicing the Lenovo Powers Lenovo strategy and service-led transformation.
Among these responsibilities, the model solution of Lenovo Powers Lenovo - Lenovo xCloud™ - was officially released in June 2022, offering enterprise customers a full-lifecycle hybrid cloud solution covering cloud build, adoption, use, and management. In less than two years after its release, Lenovo xCloud™ has won substantial amount of flagship customers, nearly 40 industry awards and certifications from authoritative institutions such as IEEE/ Gartner/ IDC/CAICT/CCF/China Association of Inventions/ etc.
In July 2023, the TruScale 2.0 service was launched in the Chinese market, enabling platform and application services on the basis of traditional hardware and computing services, adding capabilities such as AI computing power, cloud PC, and SAP/enterprise applications, to provide customers with a one-stop full-stack subscription service experience.
Since joining Lenovo in 2005, Michael has been responsible for the construction and modernization of Lenovo's IT infrastructure and has successfully launched several remarkable IT internationalization projects (IBM PC, IBM X86, Motorola IT etc.), effectively supporting the rapid development of Lenovo's global business.
Michael is committed to promoting a standardized, automated, and intelligent IT governance system, as well as continuous architecture optimization and upgrading, and constantly pursuing industry-leading operation excellence and cost efficiency.
