Mao Shijie graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2001 and joined Lenovo Group the same year. He obtained his EMBA from Peking University. Initially engaged in PC Internet, intelligent terminals, and mobile Internet, he has been a pioneer in the field of intelligent Internet. He currently focuses on XR, robotics, the metaverse, augmented reality technology, and the application of related technologies in intelligent industries. 


He also serves as an adjunct professor at Beihang University, an adjunct professor at Southeast University, a doctoral supervisor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, an industrial professor at universities in Jiangxi Province, chairman of the CCF CTO Club (Shanghai), an executive committee member of the Artificial Intelligence Special Committee.


He holds more than 20 domestic and international patents and has completed two major national scientific and technological projects (one as the project leader). He is currently responsible for two major projects under the Ministry of Science and Technology's Key R&D Program and one project under the Zhongguancun "Revealing the List and Taking Command" initiative (project leader). In 2019, he won the Outstanding Award of the Chinese Society for Science and Technology Awards, the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, the Cooperative Innovation Award of the China Society for Science and Technology, the Gold Medal of the China Invention Association, the Business Excellence Award, and the China Association of Inventions Social Innovation Award in 2022.
